Environmental Health
AMAR DELIVERS TRAINING AND INFORMATION TO HELP ENSURE PUBLIC HEALTH IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE NATURAL AND BUILT ENVIRONMENT THAT MAY AFFECT HUMAN HEALTH.
Environmental health is often overlooked when designing and delivering international development projects. AMAR puts these concerns at the heart of projects and builds this type of public health into all project activities. AMAR works in concert with local and national government, and where appropriate with international NGOs such as UN agencies, to deliver environmental health services to at-risk populations.
AMAR repairs or constructs and runs water supply systems, water purification plants and sewage treatment plants using an indigenous workforce. We provide advice to local business owners and government officials on safe working practices and engage and train local business on safe food handling.
