Mobile health clinics

AMAR MOBILE HEALTH CLINICS DELIVER PRIMARY HEALTH CARE SERVICES TO REMOTE AREAS THAT MAINSTREAM HEALTH CARE SERVICES ARE UNABLE TO REACH.

AMAR’s mobile health clinics deliver basic primary health care services to remote settlements that have no access to existing health care provision. The clinics visit communities on a regular basis and offer health consultations, check-ups, vaccinations, food supplements and referrals to fixed health centres or hospitals if further treatment is required. Mobile health clinics also help improve water sanitation through the distribution of chlorine tablets, and deliver health education through lectures and educational materials. The clinics are also used to transfer patients to other health facilities, such as hospitals.

“Our village is far away from the Primary Health Care Centre and the road to reach it is unpaved. This fact meant that most of our village children were deprived of vaccinations. We can imagine the bad impact of this on the health of our kids. With the mobile clinic project now reaching our village regularly, our children are starting to receive their vaccines and this has reflected positively on their health.”
