Providing Quality Healthcare
AMAR is dedicated to rebuilding and restoring healthcare capacity across Iraq.
We care for patients in their homes and communities. We operate healthcare centers, run mobile clinics, empower and train Iraqi medical staff, and strengthen local health systems.

PRIMARY HEALTHCARE CENTERS
We build and rehabilitate primary healthcare centers to provide access, increase the availability of services, develop medical professional skills and enhance community understanding of health and wellbeing.
RURAL HEALTH POSTS
We establish health posts in small and rural areas to ensure populations have access to medical care on a weekly basis. Each post is staffed with a doctor and 3 nurses to deliver health consultations, vaccinations, and referrals.

MOBILE HEALTH CLINICS
AMAR healthcare providers bring health services to remote and rural areas via mobile health clinics. Our teams of Iraqi doctors and nurses make regular visits to hard-to-reach communities by van and truck to ensure access to healthcare.
MATERNAL & CHILD HEALTHCARE
All of our health projects target pregnant women, mothers and children with check-ups, vaccinations and health education. We also ensure that women and girls have access to a female doctor for sensitive conversations.
REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH SERVICES
We provide women with access to reproductive help, advice and treatment, including access to a female doctor where possible, family planning advice and private consultations about puberty.
HEALTH PROFESSIONAL TRAINING
We provide regular professional skills development opportunities for state-employed medical professionals, government officials, healthcare managers, and our own staff and volunteers.
Sheikh Quassim, AMAR Beneficiary in Al Khora
“Before AMAR built new water pipelines, my children’s health was always poor. I knew it was because of the dirty water we had to drink, but there was nothing I could do. Now there is clean water for us, my family is so much happier and they have not been sick in a long time.”
